Steven’s commitment to justice is a personal one. With a father who battled multiple sclerosis, Steve saw firsthand the overwhelming challenges families face when a loved one suffers. He's lived the frustration of life's simple tasks becoming huge obstacles, and the uncertainty of not being able to work. Steven has dedicated his life’s work to treating each client like a family member, and the results speak for themselves.
He is a pillar of the legal community, having served as President elect of both New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers for which he was a Founding Member. Steven was also the First President of the Alliance for Consumer Rights, a political action committee protecting the public.
His leadership positioned him to advise on multiple judicial screening committees, helping appoint judges to the courts. Steven is a certified member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a top-tier award in the United States. All of these accomplishments are part of his commitment to be the best advocate for his clients. Both of Steve’s parents were teachers and he has founded scholarships to Pace University Law School and Touro Law School. Steven also founded the Schwartzapfel Holbrook Humanitarian Scholarships for high school students focusing their studies on careers in public service fields, such as teaching, social work, nursing etc.
