Craig McKee tells a heartbreaking story of how he went from being a longtime Local 157 carpenter to a man unable to do the most mundane things for himself all due to a job site injury. His
entire life changed forever in one moment.
In August 2014, Craig got hurt on a job site. It was far from the first time he had been injured so the fact that he was injured by his leg going through a piece of plywood that was placed over a test pit didn’t strike him as that concerning or unusual. As a carpenter, he dealt with hazards daily. However, he and his doctors quickly realized that this injury, which was caused by someone else’s negligence, was different. It was so severe, in fact, that Craig underwent a spinal fusion which permanently disabled him and requires him to wear an implanted spinal cord stimulator for the rest of his life.
Craig Found Schwartzapfel Lawyers
According to Craig, he was lucky that a friend told him to contact Schwartzapfel Lawyers. “Steve Schwartzapfel and his team took my case and they saved my life for all intent purposes,” said McKee. “They fought for social security, workers’ comp benefits and won them all with very favorable outcomes.”
While he’ll never get back what he lost – his mobility and health, he now has financial stability for him and his family. “They fought for over four and half years for my family and me and were successful in every single aspect even though my previous injuries were numerous. They just would not stop or give up,” said Craig. “I am forever in Schwartzapfel Lawyers’ debt. Thanks to them my family and I have a future again.”
Did you know that between 8 million and 11 million construction workers are injured on the job every year?
