Social Security Disability Online Resources

The official Web site of the United States Social Security Administration contains complete information and resources on filing for disability benefits, retirement benefits, Supplemental Security Income and Medicare.

Serving the states of New Jersey and New York, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the regional office administers the Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS) to help people receiving disability benefits get back to work, as well as the New York Region’s Work Incentives Network (WIN) programs to promote work opportunities for persons with disabilities and other locally managed Social Security programs.

The NYS Division of Disability Determinations (DDD) makes medical determinations on disability claims filed with the Social Security Administration’s Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income Disability programs.

If your application for Social Security Disability Insurance has been denied, access this site to begin the Appeals Process for your claim.

The Listing of Impairments describes, for each major body system, impairments considered severe enough to prevent an individual from doing any gainful activity and thus lead to the determination of disabled for receiving disability benefits.
