Overview of Hospital: New York Community Hospital, serving the Midwood / Madison Park section of Brooklyn, New York, was founded in 1929 by the Fritz brothers, both physicians. Since then the hospital has undergone many changes to keep up with the needs of the growing community.
NYCH is a member of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System, as well as an affiliate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. These partnerships offer patients access to over 40 hospitals in the network as well as expertise from top-ranking physicians.
A non-profit, acute care hospital, NYCH offers 134 beds as well as providing full emergency services as a designated 911 receiving hospital. Operating on a 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week schedule, the hospital provides basic life support as well as advanced trauma life support ambulances.
New York Community Hospital provides patients with pastoral and patient representative services upon request. In addition, the hospital offers kosher meals (supervised by the Vaad Harabbanim of the Flatbush Rabbinical Services), flexible visiting hours, multilingual translation services as well as complimentary food and beverage services for visitors.
