Labor Law

Background

Gayle began working for Schwartzapfel Partners in July 2009 after time off from work to raise her twin daughters. Before joining Schwartzapfel Partners she practiced law for 15 years, first as an associate in a prominent NYC personal injury firm and later at a Long Island insurance defense firm. Most recently, she served as an in-house product liability counsel for a Japanese automaker. She was born in Staten   Island, NY and attended St. John’s University and New York Law School.  She moved to Brooklyn following law school and then to Long   Island. Before accepting the position with Schwartzapfel Partners,  she volunteered her time and expertise at several organizations in her own community. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Cold Spring Harbor Library and Environmental Center, and is President of SEPTA —  Special Education Parent Teacher Association — for the Cold Spring   Harbor School District.

On a personal level, Gayle says she likes helping people and working as part of a team. "Being a personal injury attorney is a natural fit for me and I am excited about my career here," Gayle says. "Although I have experience in most areas of personal injury practice, my area of concentration within the firm will be primarily Labor Law. I feel a special kinship with our Labor Law clients since my own father worked in various construction jobs and I have fond memories of the days when I was his ‘helper.’
Gayle understands the devastating effect that an accident or illness can have on an individual and also knows that a lawsuit is sometimes a last resort. She says,  "I look forward to helping each of our clients through the legal process as quickly and smoothly as possible, and making sure they are adequately compensated for their injuries and economic loss."
