Welder's Taking Action

Due to new research, like a recent Washington University report, more welders are coming forward to spread the word about Manganese exposure and to take action against the manufacturers who deceived them for so many years.

In October 2003, an Illinois jury awarded $1 million to a 57-year-old man who claimed he developed Parkinson's disease from using welding rods for over 25 years. The jury found welding rod manufacturers Lincoln Electric, Hobart and BOC responsible for Larry Elam's injuries due to their failure to inform him of the risks of Manganese fumes.
