Study says pivotal hormone therapy trial was flawed

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been used for decades by millions of women to relieve the symptoms of menopause. Drugs such as Premarin, Provera and Prempro have become a standard treatment for American women over the age of 40. It's estimated that nearly 40% of all American women are taking or have taken some form of hormone therapy in their lifetimes.

But there is now mounting evidence that hormone replacement therapies, instead of helping women, actually cause them serious harm.  Some of the most distressing evidence points to a link between the use of "combination" hormone replacement therapy (taking both estrogen and replacements, like Premarin and Provera, or using a combination drug like Prempro) and breast cancer.

In 2002, the Federal government halted a large medical study on the effects of combination hormone therapy due to the strong evidence of multiple health risks to women, including a nearly 30% increase in the chances of developing breast cancer. You may think that HRTs have been proven safe since they've been available for so many decades or because a trusted family physician has prescribed them for you. Unfortunately, this is not true.

If you or a loved one have used Prempro, Provera or another combination hormone replacement therapy and have developed breast cancer, it's time to talk to a lawyer and protect your legal rights.  Please contact us please call us at 1.800.966.4999 or fill out the form to the right of the page for immediate attention to your case.
