US FDA clears Glaxo pill for breast cancer

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. health regulators have approved GlaxoSmithKline Plc's pill Tykerb for patients with advanced breast cancer after other treatments have failed, a company spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

The drug was approved for once-daily use in combination with Roche Holding AG's oral chemotherapy drug Xeloda, or capecitabine, Glaxo spokeswoman Mary Anne Rhyne told Reuters.
